Catalonia's local audiovisual network La Xarxa has tapped VSN to unify its radio and TV newsrooms into a single space with shared resources and boost collaborative workflows between different media outlets: radio, TV and digital media.
vsnThe project includes replacing the GrassValley Aurora equipment. VSN is providing an automated ingest system; a studio play-out system, VSNLivecom, which controls two Rhode Schwarz's DVS video servers; EMC's Isilon 20Tb centralised storage; 25 Adobe Premiere editor workstations; a virtualised Spider platform; and 75 VSNExplorer MAM licences for radio and TV journalists.
The process also required integration between the existing Dalet Radio system and VSNExplorer to exchange content between TV and radio newsrooms and MOS integration with the Avid iNews text system, as well as with Tedialīs deep storage, both already used by La Xarxa.
"VSNExplorer has become the centre of our whole installation because it allows us to design a wide range of different workflows in an efficient and totally integrated way," said Xavier Cabestany, chief technical officer at La Xarxa. "Content production is dynamic and we can distribute the finished news and programme materials to our associated local media, to Web news platforms and social networks and YouTube."
