YouView adds new BBC iPlayer, connected red button to line-up

The YouView subscription-free on-demand and catch-up service in the UK has enhanced its offering with the introduction of new BBC iPlayer and BBC Connected Red Button.

New BBC iPlayerYouView customers will now be able to access an increased choice of video and streaming content across news, sport and weather via BBC Connected Red Button, which can be launched from BBC TV channels. The refreshed look and feel offers new categories including comedy, arts, history and music allowing customers to easily find hidden TV gems.

In addition, the Connected Red Button feature offers access to not only the catch-up service but also sport and news apps on TVs from BBC TV channels. This includes exclusive live streaming of sporting events from BBC Sport.

The new BBC iPlayer and BBC Connected Red Button will launch in a staggered rollout for YouView Humax retail set-top boxes and YouView from BT set-top boxes. This update will be added to YouView from TalkTalk set-top boxes in due course.
