Big Brother set for China through Endemol, Youku Tudou deal

Online platform Youku Tudou is teaming up with content producer Endemol to launch the hit reality TV format Big Brother in China for the first time.

The collaborative series is set to run for ten weeks in early 2015, and will seek to appeal to Youku Tudou's 500 million active users across multiple screens.

"In a market that annually generates hundreds of billions of video views, partnering with the No 1 digital video platform will allow us to bring Big Brother to a young audience and deliver the most immersive, interactive and unique experience to fans across the nation," said Arjen van Mierlo, CEO, Asian Operations, Endemol.

Endemol's current shows in China include five series of celebrity talent format Your Face Sounds Familiar (百变大咖秀) for Hunan TV and The Brain (最强大脑) for Jiangsu, which is currently in production for season two.
