Univision targets Hispanics with underground wrestling

Emmy-winning producer Mark Burnett's United Artists Media Group, Robert Rodriguez and FactoryMade Ventures are behind a new action series Lucha Underground, which is to air weekly in Spanish on UniMás.
univisionThe freestyle wrestling programme will join the UniMás channel line-up on Saturdays beginning on 1 November, following the Wednesday night premiere on Robert Rodriguez's new cable channel, El Rey Network.

The 39-episode original series introduces American audiences to distinctive wrestling techniques of lucha libre, one of Latin America's most popular sports. Some of most legendary fighters –luchadores - such as Blue Demon Jr, Sexy Star, Fenix, Drago and Pentagon Jr join US-based wrestlers Chavo Guerrero Jr, Konnan, Johnny Mundo and Prince Puma in the series.
