Imagine acquires OpenTV advanced advertising business unit

Aiming to accelerate development of next-generation advertising management platforms in key market segments, Imagine Communications has acquired the assets of OpenTV from the Kudelski Group.

Imagine provides advertising business systems and video infrastructure solutions for global TV networks, broadcast stations, multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs) and claims to manage more than $25 billion in annual advertising revenue worldwide.

It sees the acquisition of the Kudelski products — Eclipse Plus, EclipsePlus/xG Billing, EclipsePlus/xG Insights and EclipsePlus/xG Linear advertising campaign management solutions — as strengthening considerably its advertising business systems portfolio, presenting the MVPD markets with new capabilities for consolidated, multi-platform billing and extended support for both impression-based and ratings-based advertising.

The products provide campaign management, traffic and billing for the smallest to largest operators, handling thousands of local and interconnected networks and channel environments. The products will be supported alongside Imagine's existing advertising business systems offerings while providing a foundation for future developments that include linear, online, on-demand, addressable, over-the-top (OTT) and programmatic business models.
