| 01 November 2014
Less than a day after launching its new over the top service, Sky Germany has turned to content acquisition and has extended its partnership with Turner Broadcasting System for a number of years.

turnerThe new deal will mean Sky viewers will continue to be able to see Turner pay-TV channels TNT series, Glitz, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network and Boomerang. The agreement also includes a major expansion of the non-linear rights for Sky. This means that in the future more programmes made by Turner on the Sky on-demand services Sky Go, Sky Anytime and Sky will be available online, such as TNT series The Last Ship and Murder in the First; Glitz’s Girls; and Adventure Time with Finn and Jake running on the Cartoon Network.

"First-class programmes, particularly in German, premiere with a high degree of exclusivity and are important criteria for licensing agreements for us,” commented Elke Walthelm, vice president of Partner Channels at Sky Germany. “These strengthen the clear positioning of both linear and on-demand services on Sky, on which programme highlights among the senders brand for retrieval are available. In this context, we welcome the expanded agreement with Turner and the continuation of our successful partnership.”

Added Hannes Heyelmann, senior vice president and managing director at Turner Broadcasting System in the German-speaking countries, Benelux, Central / Eastern Europe and Russia: "With Sky we maintain a trusting and successful partnership for many years. Since also Glitz was included in the offer of Sky in April, we are available with all of our five pay-TV channels on Sky. We are delighted with the continued co-operation."
