Roku has added Google Play Movies & TV to its Channel Store in the US, UK, Ireland and Canada.

“From the hottest new releases to iconic classics, there’s a world of movies at your fingertips with Google Play Movies & TV,” the company noted in a blog.

The deal covers new releases like 22 Jump Street, Into the Storm and Let’s Be Cops in SD or HD, before they are available on DVD. For TV, viewers can sign up for a season pass to have the latest episodes of series added automatically to the viewer’s library the day after they air.

“If you’re a TV lover, you can catch up on last night’s episode or past seasons of can’t miss TV, laugh out loud comedies, nail biting dramas, notable documentaries and more, when it’s most convenient for you,” Roku said.

Google Play Movies & TV lets users browse TV shows and movies by genre, and a feature called Info Cards offers metadata information. Users can press pause while watching, and actor names and other information will pop-up on the screen.

Google Play Movies & TV is available for current-generation Roku set-top box (STB) players, and Roku TV support is “coming soon.”
