Spanish public broadcaster RTVE is incorporating the country's national DTT radio channels into its interactive app Botón Rojo thus enabling viewers to listen to the radio stations on-demand and through connected devices.

tveradioThe broadcasting corporation launched Botón Rojo (red button) through its site RTVE.es in 2013 and it has since become a video-on-demand (VOD) success in Spain, thanks to series like Isabel and Cuéntame as well as Clan TV's kids programming.

By pressing a button on the remote control, connected TV users can access a wide catalogue of video - and now audio - programming produced and broadcast by RTVE.

The service is available under the hybrid DTT (HbbTV) standard, through which users will be able to watch content and information related to the live radio programmes or podcasts.

All the Radio Nacional channels such as Radio Nacional, Radio 3 HQ, Radio 5, Radio Clásica HQ and Radio Exterior will be available on the new smart platform. In addition, all programming will be broadcast in Dolby Digital Plus format.
