Viacom, Frontier renew carriage agreement

Viacom and Frontier Communications have announced a long-term renewal of their carriage agreement.

Under the terms of the deal Frontier will gain multi-platform rights for 27 Viacom networks as well as for premium network EPIX.

EPIX delivers big hit movies, original comedy specials, original documentaries, music concerts and series. EPIX also offers 3,000 titles available for streaming at and on the EPIX App.

Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

EPIX, a joint venture between Viacom, its Paramount Pictures unit, Lionsgate and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, is a premium movie and original programming entertainment service delivering the latest movie releases, classic film franchises, original documentaries, comedy and music events on TV, on-demand, online and on devices. Launched in October 2009, EPIX was the first premium network to provide multi-platform access to its content online at, and was the first premium network to launch on Xbox, PlayStation, Android tablets and phones, Windows 8.1 and Roku players.
