M7 to deploy extra SES capacity for Czech Republic, Slovakia

SES has won a contract to supply M7 Group with additional capacity and has extended an existing capacity contract at ASTRA 23.5 East.

sesThe Luxembourg-based satellite TV provider will use the additional capacity to further expand the HD channel offering of Skylink, the M7-owned direct-to-home (DTH) platform for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Reaching over two million DTH homes, Skylink claims to be the market-leading satellite television platform in these countries.

"With the Czech and Slovak market now rapidly moving to HD viewing, it is critical to meet the growing consumer demand for HD content and thereby maintain our market-leading position," commented Jaromir Glisnik, member of the board of M7 Group.
