Televisa seals Zodiak content deal

Televisa International has sealed a deal with Paris-based Zodiak Media to distribute its new music entertainment format, Stand Up For Your Country.
zodiaklogoZodiak Media has optioned the format in the US, UK, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The deal, which follows commissions for local versions in Mexico (Televisa) and Spain (Mediaset for Telecinco), was brokered following the format's debut at MIPCOM in October.
During the event in Cannes, Zodiak Media reached several distribution agreements for its latest formats, including Psychic Challenge which is to air in Peru, Chile and Brazil.
Stand Up For Your Country was inspired by the viral video phenomena of parents and children singing and dancing together. The entertainment series aims to give kids and parents a chance to shine on stage in front of the entire nation in a celebration of family and music.
In the programme, performances take place in front of a packed studio audience as well as a panel of celebrity judges. And in a TV first, the audience votes for their favourites with their feet, with only the most outstanding performances receiving a full standing ovation.
Stand Up For Your Country also employs social media and second-screen activities to create a buzz around the performers well before each episode airs. Online, everyone is invited to vote for their favourite performers, thus creating a loyal community of followers and fans.
