Golden Horse Awards to be shown on StarHub TV

Singapore's StarHub TV will provide live linear and streamed coverage of the 51st Golden Horse Awards in Taipei on 22 November.

The prestigious film awards recognise achievements in Mandarin movie-making and acting across Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and other Chinese-speaking countries.

Cable broadcaster StarHub TV will air proceedings from the red carpet on its E City channel and streamed via its TV Anywhere option.

Black Coal Thin Ice leads the field with eight nominations, including Best Director, Best Leading Actor and Best Leading Actress. Best Leading Actor category nominees include Chen Jian-bin in A Fool, Sean Lau in The White Storm, Liao Fan in Black Coal, Thin Ice, Masatoshi Nagase in KANO and Chang Chen in Brotherhood of Blades.
Noted names in the Best Leading Actress category include Gong Li in Coming Home, Tang Wei in The Golden Era and Zhao Wei in Dearest.

Hosted this year by Mickey Huang and Ella, the chair of the 2014 edition of the Golden Horse Awards is Sylvia Chang.

StarHub TV will also be airing a number of nominated films this month including No Man's Land, Aberdeen, As the Light Go Out, The White Storm, Coming Home, and Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon.
