German media group ProSiebenSat.1 has selected Level 3 Communications to provide content delivery services across four business units.

ProSiebenSat.1 Digital, ProSiebenSat.1 Games, ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion and maxdome GmbH will all use Level 3's content delivery network (CDN) and security services, with the aim of diversifying revenue streams beyond TV advertising. Goals include optimising fast content delivery to any device to support gaming platforms and expanding its multiscreen presence.

Maxdome and ProSiebenSat.1 Digital, the multimedia company of ProSiebenSat.1 and companion company to ProSiebenSat.1 Networld, has added Level 3's dynamic content packaging to its existing Level 3 CDN services, enabling it to tailor its on-demand video and ProSiebenSat.1 TV broadcasts to user devices such as computers, smartphones and tablets.

ProSiebenSat.1 Games, which focuses on the licensing and channelling of online games, has selected Level 3's distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation to provide a multi-layered approach to protecting ProSiebenSat.1 Games' network infrastructure and assets as well as those of its strategic partners.

And ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion, which offers studio and post-production, cross-company content management and a full broadcasting service for more than 15 TV stations, has selected Level 3 High-Speed IP services to help enhance the performance delivered to customers.

"We have been working with ProSiebenSat.1 since 2009, becoming a key supplier to the group," said Gerald Rubant, director of sales for enterprise business for Germany & Northern Europe at Level 3. "While we grow our business with ProSiebenSat.1, our objective remains the same: to continue delivering solutions that enhance their strategic business development by helping them increase their competitive edge."
