Eutelsat TV Awards to reflect record 2014
| 24 November 2014
Leading satellite operator Eutelsat believes that this year's winners of its annual awards will highlight a past 12 months marked by record audiences, making TV's place at the heart of the digital industry never stronger.
etelsatawardsEutelsat says that this has been particularly evident for key sporting events, with social media driving viewers to TV channels for news, music, fiction, education, culture and documentaries. Indeed the enduring and evolving relationship of channels with their audiences was the object of analysis of the jury of The Eutelsat TV awards, chaired by award-winning RAI journalist, Duilio Giammaria. The jury assessed the quality, innovation and creativity of over 100 channels and selected finalists from 12 countries.
This year's roster of finalists in nine categories competing for an award to be announced at a ceremony in Rome on 28 November reflects ventures with over 20 years' experience in broadcasting, including Euronews, Eurosport and MTV, and brand new ventures launched in the last 12 months, such as RTL Kockica, Fokus TV, Turkmax Gurme, Sky Sport moto GP HD. Categories include cinema, children's TV, culture documentaries, fiction/general entertainment, lifestyle, music, news/information and sport.
