OSN adds call centre capacity in Egypt

Middle East pay-TV operator OSN is expanding its call centre operations in Egypt to cope with increased subscriber demand in the Arab world.
The Dubai-based broadcast platform will employ 200 customer service agents in Egypt, marking a 45% increase in its operations in the North African country.
"With growing pay-TV penetration and increasing call centre volumes, it was essential to invest in expanding and upgrading our call centre operations," said Nick Di Marzo, chief operating officer, OSN.
"Egypt provides an ideal opportunity to serve as the customer service hub for OSN in the region owing to the country's mature and thriving call centre industry, combined with the growing customer base, providing a solid foundation upon which to expand and further develop our overall investment in the market."
OSN views Egypt as an enticing business opportunity, with just 2.4% pay-TV penetration as of 2013, compared to the regional average of 9.4 of households (4.35 million subscribers) – according to figures from IHS Technology.
OSN also runs 24 hour call centres in Saudi Arabia and the UAE – which now has 85% pay-TV penetration.
