Asian broadcasters snap up Nickelodeon shows

ABS-CBN, BesTV and Eastern Broadcasting Asia Company have all concluded content deals with children's animation network Nickelodeon ahead of the Asia TV Forum, which runs from 9-12 December.

Filipino free-to-air (FTA) broadcaster ABS-CBN has acquired pre-school shows Paw Patrol, Team Umizoomi and Dora the Explorer, as well as the popular show for children of all ages SpongeBob SquarePants. Action and adventure shows Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Penguins of Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda,

The Legend of Korra and Monsters vs Aliens will also be available for older children on ABS-CBN.

Chinese IPTV broadcaster BesTV has acquired 20 separate Nickelodeon titles, including Dora the Explorer, Fairly Odd Parents, Team Umizoomi, T.U.F.F. Puppy, Bubble Guppies, SpongeBob SquarePants, Invader Zim, Monsters vs Aliens, Planet Sheen, Robots and Monster, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius, Sanjay & Craig, Legend of Korra and Kung Fu Panda.

Taiwan's pay-TV broadcaster Eastern Broadcasting Asia Co has bought eight different Nickelodeon titles including eight seasons of SpongeBob SquarePants and three series of Dora the Explorer. Pre-school kids in Taiwan will also be able to watch Go, Diego, Go!, Team Umizoomi Blue's Clues, and Paw Patrol, while older viewers can view Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Monsters vs Aliens.
