Globo takes taste of Caribbean to Eastern Europe

Globo's Caribbean Flower, one of the hits the company is taking to ATF 2014 in Malaysia, has been licensed for Barrandov TV, a channel covering the entire Czech Republic.

globoflorTaking with it the taste and colour of Brazil, Caribbean Flower will be dubbed into Czech and its premiere is scheduled for January 2015.

Eastern Europeans are already fans of the Brazilian telenovelas, and other countries in the region including Hungary and Armenia have also acquired the rights to broadcast the series.

Written by Walter Negrão, Caribbean Flower tells the story of a fighter pilot and a tour guide. In love from a young age, everything changes when they become victims of a plot from a mutual false friend.

Caribbean Flower was a hit with audiences in Brazil, where it was on air in access prime time, averaging 25 rating points and a 50% share. In Argentina, the soap opera debuted in October, broadcast by Telefe, and led its time slot with 30% of market. The series has also been broadcast in Portugal, on Globo, where it became the most watched programme in the country's pay-TV sector.
