Video streaming service Ezyflix.tv has launched in Australia with promotional pricing for the rental or purchase of blockbuster movie downloads in the run-up to Christmas.

Download-to-own titles are being offered for A$16.99, representing savings of up to 33% compared to other online video sites in the country, says the company behind Ezyflix.tv, Access Digital Entertainment.

"It's outrageous that Aussies don't have access to the same prices as other movie-loving nations when it comes to digital content. We are proud to be the first provider to deliver a premium digital service to locals without inflated the price tag," said Craig White, CEO, Access Digital Entertainment.

"We're operating a loss leading strategy to deliver better value and access to box office hits like Guardians of the Galaxy, Transformers Age of Extinction, Mrs Browns Boys D'Movie, The Inbetweeners 2 and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which will all be available at our special holiday pricing."

EzyFlix.tv says it hopes to demonstrate that consumers will choose to pay for the content they love if they can access it conveniently and are not ask to pay an unfair market premium by studios.

EzyFlix.tv allows consumers to stream or download content on up to five connected devices, including iOS and Android mobile platforms, Samsung smart TVs or Google Chromecast.
