Atresmedia to adapt UK's Gogglebox

Following Channel 4's success with the show in the UK, Atresmedia is to adapt Gogglebox for the Spanish audience, aiming to conquer viewers with a format which has already been a hit in the US, Canada, France, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands, among other countries.

Atresmedia's Gogglebox will follow the same format as the original UK version, which turns the relationship between TV and viewer upside down, with the audience being filmed in their own homes while they watch TV.
A selected group of viewers of different ages and from various social and economic groups, comment and criticise the previous week's shows, from soap operas and drama series to reality shows.
Atresmedia has not yet unveiled on which channel the format will premiere, although it will probably air on one of the group's main free-to-air (FTA) channels on Spain's DTT, Antena 3 and laSexta.
