ARRIS Group will add Net2TV Corp's streaming television service, Portico TV, to its over-the-top (OTT) content library beginning early in 2015.
ARRIS Market is an operator-customisable HTML environment that works with the ARRIS Whole Home Solution to give operators flexibility in controlling the content as well as the look and feel on the ARRIS set-top box.
"Net2TV furthers the variety of programming our operators can offer, giving them a competitive advantage in vying for the consumers' business," said Ron Miller, vice president of product management for consumer solutions at ARRIS. "Net2TV's Portico TV broadens the content mix of existing whole-home solution deployments, offering subscribers access to a variety of engaging, on-demand content from leading programme providers."
Net2TV's Portico TV service offers special interest categories including food, entertainment, sports, news, tech and lifestyle. It also has 18 on-demand, full-length programmes, including Better Homes and Gardens, Southern Living, Saveur Cooking Light, World Eats, Inside Golf, Cycle World, Sports Illustrated, Field & Stream, A Closer Look with the AP, Newsy in 30, The Week in Time, People This Week, Celeb TV and Popular Science. All shows are updated weekly with the exception of news programmes, which are updated daily.
