European-based IPTV technology designer and manufacturer Antik Technology has opened a subsidiary in Florianopolis, Brazil.

The move represents the next step in its global expansion, after securing its presence in Europe, Singapore and Australia last year.

Antik in Brazil will focus on delivery, customisation and technical support for the Antik IPTV products and wholesale services Antik develops at its HQ in central Europe. The subsidiary's main customer focus will be ISPs, over-the-top (OTT) providers and the Brazilian hospitality segment.

"We are very happy to show our deep trust in TV market growth in Brazil," said Igor Kolla, CEO of Antik. "Our new joint venture will bring much-needed ANTIK high quality and lower cost IPTV products to South America. We rely on our local partners' deep and long-term local TV market experience."

Antik plans to sell its IPTV headend components, which include IRDs, HW transcoders, encoders, HLS streamers as well as a video-on-demand (VOD) solution, digital signage, middleware and IPTV/ISDB-T+IP set-top boxes.
