Theatre company Cinesa and search engine Findanygame are taking e-sports to the big screen at Cinesa Diagonal Mar in Barcelona, with the live streaming of the final of the SMITE video game.

The game, created by Hi-Rez studios for Microsoft platforms including Xbox, belongs to the MOBA genre, the multiplayer online battle arena and is about gods from different mythologies who fight each other. The game has seen success as an e-sport during 2014, when it launched an international championship, with the finals due to be held in Atlanta on 11 January.

The Cinesa theatres in Barcelona are going to live stream the event for Spanish fans, becoming the only spot in the country to watch the final on a big screen. The last round of the competition will see the best players from Europe, the Americas and Asia fighting for prizes worth over 1.5 million.

The event will be also focusing on social activity through the hashtag #SWCcinesaBCN and will include extra activities such as a video connection with the finals and other places across the globe to discuss the competition.
