On-demand streaming of videos has now surpassed traditional television viewing in the UAE, according to Ericsson's latest ConsumerLab TV & Media Report.
Research found 84% of consumers watch streamed video-on-demand (VOD) in the Emirates, compared to 76% who watch scheduled broadcast television several times a week.
The Swedish company also found that viewing time on mobile devices is higher than the global average. Some 37% of consumers in the UAE want to be able to watch their favored content on any device.
"Our research shows that in the UAE, viewing time on mobile devices is relatively high compared to the global average.
