Helena's Shadow leads Globo's soap opera portfolio at Natpe 2015

Globo will present its catalogue of soap operas at Natpe 2015, led by the telenovela Helena's Shadow and including other hits from the Brazilian network.

helenagloboSet in Rio de Janeiro, Helena's Shadow is written by Manoel Carlos, author of several Globo productions in Brazil and around the world, such as Pages of Life and Seize the Day. Featuring three distinct time periods, spanning the 1980s to 2014, the soap opera tells the story of an overwhelming love that leaves a trail of conflict and pain.

According to figures provided by Globo, the story aired during prime time in Brazil with average ratings of 31 points and a 55% share, reaching nearly 44 million viewers per day. The last episode, which aired on 17 July, saw over a million likes on Internet posts about the story on social media. The telenovela has also aired on SIC in Portugal where it ranked among the top 20 most watched shows in the country.

The story, which has 75 episodes of one hour each, features well known actors from the soap scene, including Giovanna Antonelli (The Clone), Reynaldo Gianecchini (Shades of Sin) and Natalia do Vale (Brave Woman).

During Natpe 2015, to be held in Miami from 20-22 January, the Brazilian distributor will offer a screening breakfast on the morning of the 20th, during which it will launch its new soap opera catalogue.
