Canal+ to air Spain's first football derby of the year

Ahead of watching the El Clásico clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona, football fans will be warming up tonight with the first derby of the year between the two strongest teams of the Spanish capital, Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid, on Canal+1.
realatleticoReal Madrid will be facing Atlético in the second round of the Spanish Copa del Rey in a match which has recently been competing in importance with El Clásico with Spanish and international audiences.
This is the third year in a row in which both teams have competed in the Copa del Rey, with Atlético winning the final in 2013 and Real Madrid defeating Atlético last year.
It will also be the fourth time this season that Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale and company face Simeone's team, which has achieved victory in the confrontations in Spain's Super Cup and La Liga.
Canal+ will be also broadcasting the rest of the matches from this round of Copa del Rey, namely Celta vs. Athletic, Malaga vs. Levante, Villareal vs. Real Sociedad, Almería vs. Getafe, Valencia vs. Espanyol and Granada vs. Sevilla.
In addition, the pay-TV platform will be increasing its presence on social TV through the hashtag #locosporlacopa.
