Norway's leading commercial broadcaster TV 2 has teamed up with second screen technology specialist Monterosa to deliver real-time voting for its new live talent format.
TV 2 is the largest commercial broadcaster in Norway, measured by daily use. Produced by Anti TV and premiering on 9 January 2015, My Dance Crew is said to be a twist on the 'traditional' dance contest, featuring eight celebrities as part of professional street dance crews.
In addition to traditional SMS voting, the audience at home can use a live Monterosa LViS-powered mobile web second screen app to allocate their five votes over the course of the show, as they watch.
"Mobile interaction is one way that progressive broadcasters like TV 2 are re-inventing entertainment for younger audiences and thereby retaining ad revenues," said Monterosa CEO Tom McDonnell, explaining the deployment. "LViS is a tool that makes live interaction part of TV production workflow, and we're thrilled to be part of such an energetic new format".
Stian Totland, Head of Future Media at TV 2 added: "Working with Monterosa has been a pleasure, and their level of service and support is second to none. The way LViS can be customised and tailored to our specific needs makes it a perfect fit."
