Imira sells formats to LATAM, US ahead of NATPE

Warming up for one of the largest content events of the year, NATPE 2015 - which kicks of next week in Miami - Spanish production house Imira Entertainment has sold several formats throughout Latin America and the US Hispanic market.

imiramagicIn Chile, Imira has sold Magic Beyond Words, a one-off biopic looking at the life of Harry Potter author JK Rowling, to ChileVision, while a renewal from local Chilean broadcaster UCV TV for classic animation The Smurfs has been secured, and the health-centred preschool series Vitaminix has been sold to Chile's Novasur.

On a regional level, the second season of the environmentally-friendly gang Yoohoo & Friends has been scooped up by Cartoon Network Latin America, while the first season of the show will air in Mexico through a deal with Canal Once.

Horatio & The Plasticines, a stop motion animation, has been licensed to US Hispanic network HITN, Mexico's Canal Once, Señal Colombia and Ecuador TV; while the creatures of Saari will continue to air on Canal Once in Mexico. In addition, the award-winning Spanish film The Living Forest has been sold to Ecuador TV.

Imira Entertainment will be taking Toonz Entertainment's properties to NATPE for the first time this year, increasing a catalogue which added content from FOX and Scholastics last year.
