wuakiSince Wuaki.tv was acquired by Japan's Rakuten in 2012, its clear goal has been to use Spain as a launching platform to expand throughout Europe while taking advantage of the synergies generated inside the international e-market company. The UK was the first international step in 2013, launching last year in three of the largest European countries driven by its strong consumption figures in the two initial markets.
Currently, the streaming platform nears two million global subs and has a platform with over 10,000 titles of series, movies and documentaries on-demand.
In addition, the company has been rolling out 4K streaming services in Germany and France since December 2014. The Ultra HD catalogue will also be available in Italy in the following weeks, and the company is currently in talks to bring it to the UK and Spain.
Wuaki.tv is available for Samsung, LG, Philips, Sony and Panasonic smart TVs, PS4 and PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360, Android, iOS and Chromecast, in addition to computers. The over-the-top (OTT) platform includes content from Warner Bros, Walt Disney, NBC, HBO, Paramount, FOX and the BBC, among other providers.
