Pay-TV channel RTL CBS Asia Entertainment HD will air the complete third season of the acclaimed political drama House of Cards from 28 February – the same day as it is released in the US.

After a weekend 'watchathon' starting at 4pm Singapore time (3pm JKT/BKK) on 28 February, the episodic series will be shown every Wednesday at 9.55pm (8.55pm JKT/BKK) from 4 March.

"We are extremely happy to be able to bring all 13 chapters (episodes) of the latest season of House of Cards to audiences in the region on the same day the series is released in the US," says Jennifer Batty, EVP programming, RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network. "This shows our commitment to bringing programmes as close to their original release dates as possible."

Jonas Engwall, CEO, RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network, added: "Being first in Asia with the way we are delivering season three – all chapters back-to-back the same day as in the US, localised with subtitles, HD – we are confident of giving audiences in the region a fantastic TV viewing experience and we believe this will curb alternative and illegal sources for the series that historically have been used."

House of Cards stars Kevin Spacey as US President Francis Underwood, with Robin Wright playing his equally power-hungry wife Claire. Both have been awarded Golden Globes for their roles, while the show itself has won multiple Emmys.

The show on RTL CBS Asia Entertainment HD will be broadcast in high definition with local subtitles by cable, satellite and IPTV networks in more than 20 Asian markets, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
