PlayStation Network to become premium brand as Sky adds content

Shrugging aside its recent travails, Sony has made major enhancements to its PlayStation Network, with Sky adding to the platform's content roster.
sonyENtSony Computer Entertainment and Sony Network Entertainment International will now come together to bring about premium network services that they claim will deliver the ultimate entertainment experience. The new PlayStation Network will encompass games, TV, video and music as a premium entertainment service brand, replacing the existing Video Unlimited services and rebranded as PlayStation Video (PS Video).
"We are very excited to offer our wide array of network services including games, TV, videos and music, under the PlayStation brand," said Andrew House, president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc and group executive in charge of the network entertainment business. "We look forward to bringing even more compelling experiences and an unparalleled breadth and quality of digital entertainment services and content to our customers."
Adding to these services will be Sky which is enabling PS3 owners who are also Sky TV customers taking Sky Go Extra or Sky Multiscreen to be able to watch Sky's live and on-demand content. This includes not only the Sky entertainment channels but also Sky Box Sets, including shows such as Fortitude, Girls, Modern Family and True Detective. The TV service is now available on over 70 devices, offering more ways to watch the latest shows, sports and movies from Sky.
