DISH Mexico has selected Octoshape's cloud-based streaming technology to expand its multiscreen, over-the-top (OTT) content play throughout the country.
DISH Mexico will offer at least 30 over-the-air and public channels live and on-demand over the Internet, using Octoshape's patented Infinite HD-MTM stream acceleration technologies.
"In order to reach top customer satisfaction, we work with our tier one content providers to position their content in the best way possible to our subscriber base," said Carlos Miranda Matzumoto, CTO at DISH Mexico. "After an extensive technology review whereby we assessed every technology available, we concluded that Octoshape was able to consistently meet all of the requirements we had for quality, user-interface and predictable flat-rate pricing models."
Octoshape's solution set includes IP contribution and distribution services to multiscreen devices, coupled with content authentication, DVR functionality per stream, geo-blocking and other key services.
"When DISH Mexico approached us, it was clear they had set out to raise the bar in the industry of what quality should mean to their end users," said Michael Koehn, CEO of Octoshape. "This partnership is yet another great example of how pay-TV operators are adapting to the changing broadcasting industry where high quality, multiscreen delivery is rapidly becoming a key element to expansion strategies."
