Movistar offers recording with TV everywhere

Telefónica has launched a new feature on its Movistar TV mobile platform, enabling the recording service which was so far only available for set-top boxes (STBs).
The service will be activated on different devices in the coming weeks and be available for customers who already have the recording feature at home.
The mobile platform won't allow users to watch the content recorded on mobile devices - for the moment it can only be viewed on a regular TV through an STB - but programmes can be recorded for later viewing.
Movistar TV has recently been improving the user experience beyond STBs, having also launched Movistar TV Ready, an app for Samsung Smart TVs which integrates decoding features into the software, making it possible to skip using an STB.
Movistar TV saw an increase in subs during last year, and is currently at the top of the pay-TV sector in Spain, along with Canal+, both with 1.6 million subs, while the next nearest competitor is Vodafone's ONO with around 800,000 subscribers.
