Turner's new Korean entertainment channel Oh!K has joined its sister channels CNN and Cartoon Network in Malaysia on the Astro pay-TV platform.
Oh!K HD offers the best and latest MBC content from Korea," said Agnes Rozario, vice president, Content Management Group, Astro. "We're confident that this new HD channel will be well received by our customers watching on TV or AOTG on desktop, tablet or smartphone."
The channel, comprising first-run dramas, music shows and variety programmes, provides English and Chinese subtitles as well as audio options in the original Korean language, with selected programmes dubbed in Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia.
Phil Nelson, senior vice president and managing director of North Asia and Southeast Asia Pacific, Turner Broadcasting, added: "Since its regional debut last year, Oh!K has already gained strong popularity, with some of the very best Korean drama and variety series airing within 24 hours of their original telecast."
The channel launched in Southeast Asia in October on Singapore's StarHub TV, and secured carriage on Singtel TV last month.
Oh!K will be now available without extra charge on Malaysia's Astro pay-TV channel until the end of February. From 1 March 2015 it will be available as part of Astro's Korean Pack.
Astro now claims to be in 62% of Malaysian households, with a total customer base of 4.3 million.
