FansWorld TV plans Latin American expansion through the Internet

Following a successful year in Argentina, in which it has established itself with Internet TV audiences, online channel FansWorld TV is planning an expansion across Latin America while reinforcing its content catalogue.
According to FansWorld's CEO, Gloria Vailatti, speaking to NexTV Latam, the online network also aims to strengthen its position in the local market, where the company will offer content from different countries. On the Pan-American side, its own show, FW en Vivo, will go on tour through Latin America and apps for mobile devices and smart TVs will be also launched.
"We saw that there was a great opportunity in the audiovisual content market," explained Vailatti. What kicked off as a social network for sports and entertainment fans became a Web TV service in June last year when it launched four shows produced in-house and closed the year with over two million unique visitors.
Currently, FansWorld's portfolio has 25 titles including series, sports and entertainment shows, but the site intends to end the year with a wider catalogue - up to 80 different pieces of content - to allow them to conquer the Latin American audience.
For the moment, access to the channel content is free although, according to Vailatti, there is a possibility of launching a paid plan for some of the shows.
