Latin America's music festival Viña del Mar has appointed HTV as its official broadcaster, delivering over six hours of live programming every day across the region and targeting over 150 million potential viewers during the five-day event.
Turner Broadcasting System's pay-TV signal for Latin music was announced as the Viña del Mar official network by Jaime de Aguirre, executive director at Chilevision - the channel organising the event - and Felipe de Stefani, general manager of Turner Internacional Argentina.
"It is a huge privilege for HTV to have the opportunity to deliver the festival throughout Latin America," commented Felipe de Stefani. "It's the most important music event in the region and our channel is the best vehicle to take the festival's strength to the audience."
The festival has seen a resurgence in popularity this year, thanks mainly to renewed audience interest and wider broadcasting through pay-TV and on mobile devices through the VIVOplay streaming platform.
HTV, which has not said if the partnership will continue in the future, is a 24/7 music channel for the Latin and Hispanic community which is broadcast across Latin America, the US, Europe and Asia.
