Uzbektelecom JSC, the largest telecommunications operator in Uzbekistan, has installed content distribution network (CDN) technology in Bukhara and Kokand to improve the performance of its IPTV service.
The CDN equipment will optimise content delivery, and accelerate download speed of audio, video, software and other digital content, the company said.
The IPTV service, branded Telecom TV, comprises 61 television channels which are currently broadcast in standard definition.
The new infrastructure will support Uzbektelecom's plans to upgrade to high definition (HD) transmission for public channels in the future.
