Telemundo Internacional, a division of NBC Universal, is joining the Latin American Multichannel Advertising Council (LAMAC) following the recent incorporation of Viacom's Latin American signals.

"Being a member of LAMAC is an important step for Telemundo Internacional, as we are a quite new player in the market, with around one year of advertising experience in the region," explained Karen Barroeta, senior VP and general manager at Telemundo Internacional. "LAMAC guarantees the support of an organisation which knows the business in LATAM and provides strategic information to enrich our work in the region."

"The members of LAMAC welcome Telemundo Internacional," commented Enrique Cusco, CEO at OLE Communications and chairman at LAMAC. "It's clear to us that channels join us because we offer benefits and added values to their efforts in the region".

Telemundo Internacional joins a list of 55 networks which includes some of the largest pay-TV groups in Latin America, such as A+E Networks Latin America, AMC Networks International Latin America, Discovery Latin America, FOX, Sony Pictures Television and Turner Broadcasting System Latin America.

"We have ambitious strategic plans to provide our channels with better tools," added Gary McBride, president and CEO at LAMAC. "Telemundo is a very attractive channel due to the quality of its content and we know they are joining LAMAC as a part of a bigger expansion plan in the region".
