ESPN Digital Media grabs top spot for LATAM online sports

ESPN Digital Media has not only topped sports properties in Spanish-speaking Latin America, but also ranked top in several key categories in Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, making 2014 a successful year for the consolidation of the US network across the region.
Looking at the pan-regional figures delivered by comScore Media Metrix, ESPN ranked first in sports property in Spanish-speaking Latin America during 2014 with average monthly unique users of 4.2 million, and second in average monthly minutes and page views.
ESPN.com also had its best year in terms of average daily unique visitors (up 20% year-on-year), total minutes (up 15%) and total video starts (up 16%).
In addition, ESPN.com delivered more sports videos than ever to the Latin American audience, ranking as the first online sports video site with the most video starts, video minutes and unique users in Mexico, Colombia and Argentina.
The TV everywhere platform ESPN Play also saw a record year, with average monthly unique viewers growing by 70% and video minutes up by 53%.
In national markets, ESPN topped online sports video websites in Argentina and ranked as the second online sports video property in Chile and as the No 1 online sports video property in Colombia during the second half of the year with 4.8 million average monthly video starts. It was also the top online sports video property with the most total video stats in Mexico.
