Netflix will partner with Vodafone to launch a 4G mobile video streaming service in New Zealand on 24 March.
Vodafone New Zealand will provide Netflix free for six months if new or existing customers sign up for a Red+ mobile plan.
"We know how excited Kiwis are about the arrival of Netflix, and are delighted to be partnering with the Netflix team to launch in the home of The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug," said Matt Williams, consumer director, Vodafone NZ.
"New Zealanders are showing us just how much great mobile content has become part of their everyday. Recent research highlighted that 41% of our customers stream content at least once a month," he added.
Original series such as family thriller Bloodline and the adventure series Marco Polo will feature among a wide range of Netflix film and TV content.
The promotional offer is available to Vodafone New Zealand customers until 30 June 2015.
The news follows the announcement last month that Netflix is to launch in Australia with the Optus owned Fetch TV.
