Spanish news agency EFE and audiovisual group Secuoya are planning to launch a regional production house together based in Colombia to reinforce their presence in the Latin and Hispanic markets.
According to El Mundo, the new company will be named Procobade and will be owned equally by both companies. The project will kick off shortly and will take advantage of Secuoya's current structure in Latin America.
The Spanish production house has recently been increasing its presence in Latin America and the US, after opening a new office in Miami and inking strategic agreements with Peru's Frecuencia Latina, through its local subsidiary Imizu, and Chile's Fábula, with which it will launch a new brand for TV production and distribution, Fábula Televisión.
Procobade will be producing and distributing video-on-demand (VOD) content and news videos for media, institutions and audiovisual companies.
The new production house, which is to be managed by Secuoya, will initially focus on the Colombian market, although the short-term strategy is to expand the model through the region.
