There's a week left until the La Liga football match between Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Canal+ is already airing extensive programming to cover one of the most watched sports events of the year, warming up for El Clásico which can achieve over ten million viewers in Spain alone.

With the competition being very close - Barcelona is one point ahead of Real - and Madrid's team clearly going downhill, many fans are looking forward to the event which will in all probability define the season.

The match, at Barcelona's Camp Nou, will be broadcast by Canal+ on Sunday 22 March at 9pm.

From Monday 16 March, the pay-TV network will cover everything surrounding the game, airing ten different in-house programmes with analysis and documentaries focused on El Clásico's stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Benzema and Luis Suárez.

Through the premium football channel Canal+Liga, journalists and experts from Canal+ will deliver all the information surrounding the teams, the different styles of coaches Luis Enrique and Carlo Ancelotti, the competition between Messi-Ronaldo over the years, and the most epic moments of past games.

El Clásico, whose signal is produced by Mediapro, usually scores big not only in Spain, but around the globe, with recent matches having been watched by over 400 million football fans in more than 100 countries.
