Asia's Got Talent breaks continental ratings records

The Got Talent format has made its first pan-continental production in Asia with what the producers claim is record acclaim.

asiasgottalentThe franchise has 67 local versions across Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. Fronted by Grammy-award winner David Foster, former Spice Girl Melanie C, Indonesian rock star Anggun and Taiwanese-American singer Van Ness Wu, the Asian series is co-produced by FremantleMedia and Syco Entertainment for AXN, the leading English general entertainment channel in Asia. The series claims to have reached audiences across South East Asia, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong and Singapore, and is set to debut in South Korea and Taiwan.

Premiering on AXN on 12 March 2015, Asia's Got Talent topped ratings amongst English pay-TV channels across Southeast Asia, comprising Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. During the telecast of Asia's Got Talent, AXN was said to have delivered ten times the rating of the next English general entertainment channel.

In Malaysia alone, AXN topped all English channels on Astro during the premiere telecast and took more than an 80% share across all English GE channels during the timeslot. AXN also ranked as top English GE channel in the Philippines dominating with over an 80% share across all English GE channels, and ranked number two amongst all pay-TV channels. In Singapore AXN was the top rating English channel during Asia's Got Talent premiere telecast and became the top English GE channel for the night of the premiere.
