Movistar GO, Telefónica's multiscreen, mobile and over-the-top (OTT) TV platform, is to stream Peru's national football championships, the Torneo del Inca (aka Copa Movistar) as well as the regular league.

"The Peruvian tournaments have been a key content for pay-TV offers in the country for the last ten years," commented Carlos Arévalo, director of domestic business at Movistar Perú. "The multiscreen experience offers the possibility of watching all the games online through the Web and via the platform Movistar GO.

With the broadcasting rights of the 17 football participating teams, Movistar TV is currently showing the Torneo del Inca 2015 through CMD and GolTV, and also via the OTT platform.

"Through 2015, Movistar is to deliver over 300 live games from different tournaments in Peru," added Arévalo, adding that football is to be a distinguishing feature of Movistar's offer in the country.

In addition to the matches, Movistar TV is also launching an app for the football league, which shows goal replays just a few minutes after they appear on TV, highlights of every game and live statistics.

Having been initially available only for computers, Movistar GO is now running on Android and iOS devices, with a Windows Phone version coming soon, it was announced at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress
