A children's version of the hit TV talent format The Voice is to be launched for the Arab world by regional broadcaster MBC and the holder of the show's intellectual property rights Talpa International.
MBC1 MBC MASR - The Voice Kids- LOGOA casting and scouting tour for The Voice Kids has begun in earnest across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with the show's producers looking for talented young people aged between seven and 14.
Once the casting is complete at the end of April 2015, 'blind' auditions will commence in front of the cameras. The Voice Kids mbc.net/thevoicekids will be broadcast on free-to-air (FTA) satellite channels MBC1 and MBC MASR.
The coaches for the new show are yet to be announced by MBC.
Local versions of The Voice Kids, created like its grown-up counterpart by John de Mol, aired last year in the Netherlands, Australia and the Philippines, while Sat1 is currently showing it in Germany.
MBC will be hoping the spin-off provides another reality hit, after it attracted an estimated 100 million viewers for the second Arab series of The Voice, which concluded in March 2014 with the crowning of Iraqi Sattar Saad.
