TV personalisation specialist ContentWise is further expanding its North American market presence, partnering with advisory firm Landmark Ventures and hiring a North American sales director.

ContentWise learns the tastes and habits of each user, anticipating their actions and pushing relevant content. The ContentWise solution supports discovery, search and predictions for both recorded and live programs delivered by linear TV channels, including catch-up TV, SVOD, advertising supported content and electronic sell-through (EST).

"Personalisation is increasingly being recognised as a key element for retaining users and increasing loyalty, especially for SVOD services," said Paolo Bozzola, CEO at ContentWise. "But many companies are still in their first timid attempts of personalisation, implementing models that were leading-edge four or five years ago. As TV service providers across the region continue to compete with services like Netflix, they need to adopt personalisation technologies that go beyond recommendations and that push great content to its viewers. We are determined to grow our footprint in the North American market and help operators make the most of true personalisation."

To support its expansion, ContentWise has hired Neal Schleimer sales director for the region. Schleimer joins ContentWise from Seawell Networks, where he led North American sales.

"I am excited to be joining ContentWise at a time when personalisation is really beginning to impact the market and today's content providers," said Schleimer. "With the exponential growth of content, companies are finding it more and more difficult to keep their customers engaged and from ultimately clicking the in-put button on their remotes. ContentWise offers providers the tools they need to engage viewers with content that matches their personalities, and I look forward to helping the company make its mark in North America."
