Former Apple executive to lead Wuaki European expansion

Barcelona-based streaming platform Wuaki.tv has appointed Sebastien Janin, former executive of Apple iTunes, as head of international business development in order to strengthen the company through its European expansion.
wuakiexecJanin has over 20 years experience in on-demand and has worked at iTunes for the last eight years, leading the service's video platform launch in Europe and Latin America for the last two years. During this time, he has also been working with independent and international cinema, taking new talent across Europe.
The executive takes on the position as Wuaki.tv continues with its plan to be operating in ten countries by the end of the year. Operating in Spain, the UK, Germany and France, the platform launched on 4K in Italy in February, and intends to start operating in Ireland and Austria before summer.
"The European expansion is the key for 2015's plans; we want to bring our video-on-demand (VOD) service to everybody," said Jacinto Roca, CEO at Wuaki.tv. "But we know we need experienced people on board. Sebastien's appointment reinforces our commitment towards our executive team who share our vision of offering a quality video service for homes and mobile devices across Europe."
