Brazil's TV Diário, a TV Globo affiliate, has tapped Integrated Microwave Technologies (IMT)'s RF Central microLite Wireless Camera HD Links to support mobile broadcast agility.

Its Festa do Divino Espírito Santo broadcast was the first to make use of the technology.

The affiliate has updated the station's outdoor broadcast van with microLite for mobility in the field. Its Festa do Divino Espírito Santo broadcast was the first to make use of the technology.

Festa do Divino is a historical religious festival held annually throughout the municipality of Mogi das Cruzes. This year, the parade portion of the event, which took place over the course of two hours, was broadcast live on TV Diário. An estimated 25,000 spectators shut down the streets of the central region of Mogi das Cruzes to witness the traditional procession of the Entry of the Palmetto portion of the celebration.

"The RF Central microLite system enabled us to create a much more agile broadcast," said Renato Concenza, executive director of TV Diário. "We were able to bring new images with fantastic quality to our viewers. The system was spectacular."

All microLite HD Links are available in licensed 2GHz and license-free 5.8GHz frequency versions. The 2GHz model covers from 1.9Ghz to 2.5GHz and delivers up to 200mW, while the 5.8GHz frequency band unit has a 100mW RF output.

"The microLite link brought fantastic agility to this transmission, because we can get away from the conventional images done using cable, and our reporters and videographers have more agility and more distance between where the image is captured and our mobile unit," said Romeu Alencar, engineering director at TV Diário.
