Jim Henson expands global distribution team

With five of its preschool series airing simultaneously in various territories around the world, the Jim Henson Co has expanded its global staff.
Amy TakaharaThe production company has promoted key staff for its global distribution business and has hired Amy Takahara as the company's director of global distribution and sales. Formerly the manager of distribution and marketing at FremantleMedia Kids and Family Entertainment, Takahara brings a decade of executive experience in the global film and television industry.
"The Jim Henson Company's talent for developing fun, smart and engaging content for children continues to drive global demand from buyers for our programming," said the company's EVP of global distribution and international consumer products, Richard Goldsmith. "Thanks to the dedication of people like Karen Lee Arbeeny, Casie Friedman and Katie Mullins and our new addition to the team Amy Takahara, the Jim Henson Company has been able to enjoy tremendous success as we continue to expand our brands in the global market."
Friedman has been promoted to senior director of global distribution and sales, responsible for worldwide home entertainment and digital sales. Mullins, who joined the company in February 2014 as an assistant for global distribution, has been promoted to coordinator. And Arbeeny has been promoted to vice president of business operations and global distribution.
