Mediapro to offer OTT services for content providers

Spain's Mediapro has announced the development of a comprehensive, dynamic and versatile over-the-top (OTT) platform for content providers.
mediaproottMediapro will showcase the platform at MIPTV, which kicks off in Cannes on 13 April. Targeting providers, the service aims to deliver round-the-clock high definition (HD) channels, live events, video-on-demand (VOD), recording services and a programme guide. The company aims to forge alliances and sign international distribution agreements for 2016 through this new service.
Spain already has two similar solutions developed by Mediapro for B2C environments: TotalChannel - acquired a year ago - and Gol Stadium. TotalChannel offers 12 TV channels (including FOX, AXN, TNT and National Geographic) and the ability to watch Gol Televisión live from its range of apps for mobile and smart devices, including iOS, Android, Chromecast and consoles.
Mediapro, known for managing global sports rights for events like El Clasico, has lately been developing new content solutions to compete in the OTT scene, delivering mobile content while keeping its connection to more traditional pay-TV platforms, such as the Formula One channel, recently launched for Latin America.
