MIPTV 2015: Globo extends Empire to 15 countries

One of Globo's most recent soap operas, Empire, has been licensed to air in 15 countries, following successful presentations at NATPE which took place earlier this year, and at MIPTV, which is currently being held in Cannes.

empireAlthough the Brazilian producer has not unveiled all the countries in which Empire is to be broadcast in 2015, the distribution deals include Mexico and Portugal, where it's already airing and is placed as the ten most watched programme in the country.

According to Globo, Empire aired during its prime time in Brazil and won over audiences across the country, following in the footsteps of other telenovelas written by the well known author Aguinaldo Silva. The soap opera recorded an average of 34 rating points and a 59% share, reaching 45 million viewers.

The telenovela features a stars such as Josť Mayer and Adriana Birolli (Looks & Essence), Paulo Betti and Rafael Cardoso (The Life We Lead) and Nanda Costa (Brave Woman).
